Richard Kell was born in Co. Cork in 1927. After spending five years in
India he was educated in Ireland. In 1983 he retired from his post as a
senior lecturer in English Literature to devote more time to creative
work. He has produced five individual volumes of poetry: Control Tower
(1962), Differences (1969), The Broken Circle (1981), In Praise of
Warmth: New & Selected Poems (1987) and Rock and Water (1993).
